MOBILE SUBSTATION

Mont-Ele has been working in the sectors of energy, transport, industry, services and research since 1972, having among its main customers companies as RFI, Ferrovienord, MM, ATM, SNBC, GTT, TT, ANSALDO STS and Regional Railways for which carried out, with clients’ trust and satisfaction, electromechanical, plant, system, civil and maintenance engineering for main fixed and mobile SSs for the Italian and International markets, classifying Mont-Ele as one of the leader companies in fixed and mobile conversion substations supply (from 3,69kV up to 575V).

The high level of qualification and the experiences of Mont-Ele in the engineering sector, assures high quality of mobile SS, meeting all applicable international standards.

 

CONTINUITY CONTROL SYSTEM

The continuity control system units of the electrical connections ME-CCR01, ME-CCR02 and ME-CCR03 belong to the products of the Railway Energy series family and are used on railway, underground and tramway traction systems.

The engineering of continuity control system, both in terms of constructive solutions, components choice and performances, hold in consideration the significant experiences dues by Mont-Ele in the applications and in the operation of traction systems.

 

SUBSTATION AUTOMATION 

The automation and control system allows full management of the Subsation with the latest control technologies.

The key word is complete integration among local compartment automation and the mimic panel of the Substation and the remote central control room (OCC). Integration means not only simplification of the wiring but an exchange of complete and rich informations for a more efficient substation management and effective planning of maintenance.

The integration starts from the local compartment where PLC / RTU are installed for local acquisition and control, connected to a Substation local network that allows data transmission to the station control system. Also IED devices are interconnected to the system.

 

SAFETY IN TUNNEL

In case of a tunnel accident, the hazards for passengers and rescue services are not only fire and smoke but also power-voltage on overhead lines. A fast evacuation is crucial and the railway service operator must ensure that overhead line is disconnected and earthed before rescue services enter the tunnel.

The emergency tunnel earthing system of overhead line is an integrated automatic system that allows the safe management of the disconnectors and the earthing of overhead line in the tunnel.

The system allows the disconnecting and earthing by a remote Control Centre or by a local control and display unit installed in all tunnel accesses, with a simply and comprehensive way for operators and rescue services.

This system is the response of technical specification for interoperability relating to “Safety in railway tunnels TSI – SRT” in European railway systems (2008/163/EC); the EU specification requires a way of earthing the overhead line for tunnels over 1 km long.

This system is designed for the safety earthing of the overhead line in short time under emergency and the achievement of high levels of SIL (Safety Integrity Level) and can be realized in different version according to specific requests from local railway company, in particular:

  • standard configuration with no SIL requirement
  • SIL3 certified according to IEC 61508, IEC 61511
  • SIL 4 certified according to EN 50126, EN 5128, EN 50129

 

DISCONNECTING SWITCHBOARD

Mont-Ele availed itself of the experience carried out in the operation and maintenance of traction system for tramway and underground, to develop switching equipment of the Railway Energy series.

Consisting of switchboards which can be installed either in the conversion substation or along the line, these switchboards can be equipped both with DC switch disconnector able to operate on-load and with off-load disconnectors and switches of the MSX-MSY series.
